Dr. Darius D. Peterson I is a prophetic voice, dedicated educator, and passionate servant of the Lord whose life and leadership reflect a deep commitment to faith, excellence, and service. As a preacher, teacher, mentor, and ministry leader, he seeks to equip believers, strengthen families, develop leaders, and inspire people to fulfill their God-given purpose. A proud native of Georgia, Dr. Peterson’s spiritual journey began at an early age. He embraced salvation and received the gift of the Holy Spirit at just seven years old. Raised in the fear and admonition of the Lord by his beloved grandmother, he developed a foundation rooted in holiness, prayer, and the authority of God’s Word. Her faithful example and intentional guidance helped cultivate the spiritual sensitivity, devotion, and commitment to service that continue to shape his life and ministry.

Answering the call to preach while still young, Dr. Peterson delivered his initial sermon under the mentorship of Bishop Kelvin D. Wells Sr. He continued his ministerial development under the tutelage of Bishop James E. Hamilton, through whom he was licensed and commissioned as a minister. He was later ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ by the late Bishop Roosevelt Dunn. Graduating as valedictorian of his ordination class, he was also recognized as the youngest Elder in the Colorado Jurisdiction at that time. These formative experiences strengthened his appreciation for spiritual accountability, disciplined preparation, and faithful stewardship of the call of God.

Throughout his ministry, Dr. Peterson has served in numerous capacities, including Minister of Music, Senior Associate Minister, and Church Administrator/Chief Ministry Officer. These assignments have afforded him opportunities to support congregational worship, oversee ministry operations, develop teams, and help translate vision into meaningful action. His leadership emphasizes both spiritual vitality and organizational excellence, recognizing that effective ministry requires prayerful direction, thoughtful planning, and a shared commitment to serving people well.

Dr.Peterson is a proud member of the Church of God in Christ. His denominational service includes the roles of Deputy Chief of Staff for the International Department of Evangelism, Assistant Director for the COGIC Administrative Staff Development Commission, and Jurisdictional Secretary for the Kenya 4th Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. Through these responsibilities, he contributes to leadership development, administrative effectiveness, and the advancement of the Church’s mission. He also serves as the Servant Leader of Revive Christian Center- Bainbridge, where his heart for ministry is expressed through a commitment to transforming lives, strengthening families, and impacting the community for Christ.

Beyond the pulpit, Dr. Peterson is a dedicated educational leader and advocate for student success. A graduate of Bainbridge High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education/History, a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and Supervision, an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. His academic preparation reflects his conviction that learning is a lifelong responsibility and that leaders must continually develop the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to serve effectively.

As a Principal and Instructional Leader, Dr. Peterson works to strengthen instructional practice, cultivate teacher capacity, and promote safe, supportive, and equitable learning environments. He approaches education with the belief that every learner possesses potential worthy of intentional investment. His work connects high expectations with meaningful support, encouraging educators and students alike to pursue excellence. Across ministry and education, he brings a consistent commitment to developing people, building community, and creating opportunities for growth.

Dr. Peterson is married to his high school sweetheart, Lady Teena Jeffery-Peterson. Together, they are the proud parents of Moriah Grace Peterson and Darius D. Peterson Jr. He treasures his role as a husband and father, understanding that the love, faithfulness, and care demonstrated at home are essential expressions of the values he teaches publicly.
